About the college

P.K.R Arts College for Women is an autonomous, unaided college of arts and sciences, affiliated to Bharathiar University. Since its inception in 1994, it has been overseen by Dhandapani Rural Charitable Trust with the goal of empowering rural women. The college is situated in a lovely area, surrounded by hills and green fields, creating a calm and pleasant learning environment. The college is dedicated to the late Thiru. Kalimudhaliar's enduring memory. The college has 7 Departments and 59 classrooms. A sufficient number of PCs with internet access are available in each department. The classrooms are relatively big, airy, and well-furnished. The college includes four excellent labs, including two computer labs with 526 terminals and internet access for conducting research in a variety of fields like physics, chemistry, and computer science The college had been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade in 2013 again re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ Grade in 2018. Further it has been granted an Autonomous Status by the UGC in 2017.

With strenuous efforts and progressive results, the college now offers 12 Under Graduate, 8 Post-Graduate, 7 M.Phil. and 6 Ph D., research Programmes. Applications can be filled in online mode. Admission into the desirous courses is given on the basis of marks. 

Eligibility criteria

Candidates for undergraduate programmes must have obtained a passing grade in the relevant subjects from an recognised board in their 12th grade. Admission to a postgraduate programme is contingent upon completion of the necessary graduate programme at an approved institution of higher learning, such as a university or one of the numerous degree-granting colleges.

UG and PG admission

The college has seven departments which provide 12 undergraduate courses, 8 postgraduate courses, various research programmes and add- on courses. The programmes available here are in the stream of Arts, Science or commerce. Admission is given on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination.
