SRM Valliammai Engineering college was established in 1999. It is an autonomous engineering institution. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It has been approved by All India Council for Technical education, NAAC and University Grants Commission.

They provide multiple courses in the field of engineering to their students. There are 11 undergraduate courses and 8 post graduate courses that are being offered.
For admission to post graduate courses, a candidate needs to have a relevant graduate degree and he/she must present his/her score in a common entrance test conducted at the state level.
