About the college

St. Ann's College Of Nursing (SACON) is a women’s medical training institute located in Thoothukkudi, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 1974 by the Sisters of St. Ann (Luzern). It was recognized by the Indian Nursing Council in 1973 and State Nursing Council of Tamil Nadu. The college is now administered by the St. Ann Society of Bangalore. Its mission and purpose is to provide world class education and training to the female youth, and its motto, inspired in the Spirit of Christ, is to “Serve and Shine”. To prompt such development, the college campus provides all the necessary facilities like: the hostel, canteen, laboratories, clubs, seminar hall, auditorium and playground. The college is also connected to the Sacred Heart Hospital. For academic needs of students, SACON courses consist of a diploma and undergraduate degree in nursing that are learnt and applied beyond the classroom for the innate development of the female youth of the future. 

St. Anns College Of Nursing Admission 2024 

A diploma course in General Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM) is offered to prepare the skills and knowledge relevant to a general nurse’s qualifications within the span of 3 year learning. The college also offers a degree course in nursing as a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), its syllabus prescribed and curated by the Indian nursing Council (INC), and spans a 4 year long period. 

Eligibility 

Candidates with passing grades at the 10+2 (XIIth) level in the science stream subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Biology are eligible. Aggregate marks may also be considered based on the institute. In addition to this, there is a minimum age limit of 17 and maximum age limit of 35. 

Process

Prospective students must fill in and send the college application form either via email or in person. Necessary documents to be submitted alongside the application form are academic reports, conduct certificate, transfer certificate, baptism certificate (if Christian), a cover letter, community certificate, migration certificate (only for outstation candidates), medical certificate and copies of Ration card and Aadhar Card.
