In the year 1948, the academy  of engineers brought forth the idea  of establishing a premium engineering    college in Asansol , West Bengal. In the same year, Asansol Engineering College was set up as a joint venture between JIS Group and Techno India Group which has been imparting education at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the field of engineering and technology. The self-financing degree college is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad  University of Technology ( MAKAUT) , West Bengal. The curriculum of the college is fabricated well instilling students with curiosity of the subject and developing in them the research aspects. The college has to serve  its motto ‘ Engaging Talent, Discovering Ideas’ by appropriating, magnifying the teaching efficiency, grabbing students' interest and setting them on the quench of innovation and knack to create, hence making significant contributions to science.

The college has relevant programs which are approved by All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) and has been granted by the World Bank under Technical Quality Improvement Program ( TEQIP) .

BCA

Admission to the above mentioned course are ,ade through either qualifying WBJEE or JEE conducted  by National Testing Agency.

MCA

Admission to M.Tech is made through PGET and for MCA one needs to get a valid score in JECA conducted by WBJEE.
