About the college

Asansol Polytechnic [AP] is an institution located in Asansol, West Bengal. It was established in 1950 and is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education. The primary ambition of AP is to shape and develop professional technocrats who are competent and strive for excellence in technical knowledge and skill on global standards. Facilities that have been integrated with the AP campus are Library, Computer Center and Lab, Electrical Labs, Civil Labs, Mining Survey Lab, Mechanical Labs, Metallurgical Labs, Physics Labs, Chemistry Labs for the course-specific benefits of the students. These services are provided to complement the diploma degrees offered by the institute.

AP Admission 2024 

The diploma programs of the GP institute consist of 3 year degrees. They can be majored in Mining Engineering, Mining Survey, Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering. Students can also join the courses through Lateral Entry. 

Eligibility 

The student must have passed the 10th grade with a certification, in order to be eligible for a seat in the institution. Additionally, based on the merit of the student's 10th result, admission to the institute will be accepted, so a minimum requirement is 45% and above. 

Process

To engage in the admission process, students must visit the JEXPO website founded under the West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development. Candidates must fill the application forms available on the website, uploading soft copies of important documents, signatures and photographs. There is no application fee charged. After the necessary procedure has been done, students must then give the JEXPO examination. The results of the exam, which will be announced on the college website once collated, will be followed by a counselling session. In the session, the student can then choose the college if they are offered a seat, finally securing the seat.
