About the college 

Falakata Polytechnic [FP] is an institution located in Alipurduar, West Bengal. It was established in 2001, and is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of India. The institute strives to become a centre for knowledge and skill to students, by providing the best of resources academically and in extracurriculars, so they can develop as expert professionals in the technical field. To do this the campus is furnished with facilities like a library, computer labs, workshops related to the specific field of study, Wi-fi service, canteen, seminar hall, and student accommodation in the form of hostels. Academic resources are offered in the form of diploma courses in many Science subjects. 

FP Admission 2024 

Diploma courses are offered majoring in subjects like: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering, and Food Processing Technology. The courses are taught either in the English or Bengali medium and students can give examinations in the Bengali language as well. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for a seat, candidates are required to have passed a 10+ examination from the West Bengal Board of Education or certified from any other board that has the approval of the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education and Skill Development (WBSCT&VE&SD). Additionally, students are required to to present a proof of good health and mental fitness with a Medical Fitness Certificate. 

Process

Candidates are required to give the JEXPO, VOCLET or equivalent examination based on the specifications of the WBSCT&VE&SD. Counselling sessions will be carried out based on the merit list of the students in the entrance examination. A candidate can choose between the different colleges offering a seat according to their preferences in the counselling session. A fee will have to be paid to secure their seat. Once admitted to any Polytechnic institution, the candidate has to apply to the WBSCT&VE&SD website and register themselves.
