Minimum Admission Requirements
Basic requirements:

A candidate who has finished the Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination or its equivalent is eligible to apply for admission to the first year of the three-year B.A / B.Sc. / B.Com. 
(Extract from the Admission and Examination Regulations of the University of Calcutta for 2016-17 (B.Com) and 2018-19 (B.A/B.Sc., with B.Com modifications).

Aggregate marks should be calculated by adding the marks in the Best Four topics in the order of marks acquired by the candidate (excluding the marks for Environmental Studies / Environmental Education).

A candidate for the Hons. the course must have a cumulative grade point average of 50%.

Or
If the candidate did not study the topic in his or her last qualifying examination, he or she will earn 50% of the total marks if all other requirements are satisfied.

However, a minimum of 40% in the aggregate or 40% in the subject or related subjects in the previous qualifying test is necessary for the Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe group taking Hons.

No candidate shall be allowed if there have been more than 5 years after passing the last qualifying examination, or if a recognized regular Course of Studies has been stopped after passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission is not used while calculating five years from the year of passing the preceding qualifying Examination.
